We are now taking a major step forward in the development of our solution for paced production. With support for features such as individual station takt times and digital Andon, Boards on Fire TAKT helps production teams identify disruptions earlier, respond faster, and keep the entire production flow on pace.
In paced production, even a small disruption can quickly have consequences further down the line. One station falls behind, the next has to wait, and suddenly a local issue is affecting several parts of production.
That is exactly where Boards on Fire TAKT comes in. The solution visualizes takt, status, and disruptions in real time, giving operators, support functions, and production management a shared view of how the flow is actually performing – while there is still time to influence the outcome.
At the heart of TAKT is the digital takt board. It gives the team an overview of current pace, planned pace time, disruption time, and the status of different stations. Clear visual signals make it easy to identify when production deviates from plan and where action is needed.
During the year, we have also introduced support for individual station pace times, making it possible to monitor each station separately while still maintaining an overview of the entire production flow.
Disruptions can be registered directly where they occur and stored for follow-up. This makes it possible both to address the issue here and now and to use historical data to identify recurring disruptions and improve the flow over time.
One of the most important new features is digital Andon. When an operator needs support, an Andon call can be triggered directly from the station. The status changes on the takt board, making it immediately clear that assistance is required. When support arrives, this is registered in the system, and once the issue has been resolved, the Andon call is closed.
This creates a standardized flow from signal to action and reduces the need for phone calls, running across the factory floor, or simply relying on someone to notice the problem. The goal is to get the right support in place faster, before the disruption has time to affect the rest of production.
The ambition with Boards on Fire TAKT is not simply to visualize how production is performing. The solution is designed to help teams actively manage production in real time and act on what they see.
