New Features in Boards on Fire - Fall Update

Boards on Fire is finally fully real-time!

We've now enhanced the image and text components to update in real-time on boards, just like everything else in BoF. No more browser extensions or manual board refreshes are needed when adding new images—it now works seamlessly from, for example, your mobile, updating instantly everywhere the board is displayed! New Functionality:

In addition to real-time updates, we’re excited to introduce a new feature for our components: Number Visualizer and Simple Number Visualizer!

You can now customize colors for text or background based on rules you define. Whether you want to highlight values above or below a certain goal or simply make specific numbers stand out, this feature gives you the flexibility to create visuals that meet your needs.

Set Color Rules: Choose specific colors for numbers or backgrounds based on custom conditions (e.g., values above/below a target).
Easily Identify Key Metrics: Instantly see when values meet or exceed set thresholds, making it easier to track results at a glance.

This new capability lets you tailor your number visualizations, making your dashboard even more informative and visually engaging. Enjoy experimenting with colors to highlight what’s most important!

New Component: Improvement Statistics

Have you implemented many improvements but missed out on tracking statistics for your improvement work? With the new Improvement Statistics component, you’ll have complete insight into your progress and trends in improvement efforts.

Product Enhancements:

Fixed Intervals: You can now set fixed intervals in graphs, ranging from daily to annually, with special support for your fiscal year!
Refreshed Deviation Module: Deviations can now be created directly from your BoF functions, automatically pulling in relevant data from key metrics. The entire flow—from tracking key metrics to creating deviations and implementing improvement actions—is now in BoF (note: access to the deviation module is required).
New Deviation Settings: There’s now an option to mark the current day green at midnight instead of the default, which marks the previous day. A new filter for “unplanned” deviations is also available, including statuses “registered,” “investigated,” and “described.”
Tooltip for Virtual Fields: You can now easily view underlying calculated values in Boards on Fire with the addition of tooltips for virtual fields.
Search Function: A search feature is now available when choosing a data source or entity for a component. We’ve also filtered out unavailable options.
Real-Time Updates: Real-time updates now work in the Image component, Image Carousel, and Free Text component, meaning any updates appear instantly on boards without needing to refresh.
Nested Entities: Want a dropdown list to depend on a previous list selection? You can now “nest” simple entities so they have dependencies on other lists.
Usage Tracking: View data source and entity usage under the “Usage” tab on any entity and data source.
