What is daily management?

Daily management, also called "daily gemba," is an important principle in lean production. It is about daily improvement and optimization of the workflow by finding and eliminating any problems and delays. This means being on site where actual production takes place ("gemba") daily to continuously improve the process.

Daily management can be used to:

  • Identify and solve problems on site
  • Increase team members' engagement and accountability
  • Increase productivity and quality of production
  • Increase customer satisfaction by delivering products and services faster and with better quality

Daily management can be done in many different ways, such as holding daily meetings with the team to discuss any problems and suggestions for improvement, or using tools like kanban boards and other visualization methods to monitor the workflow and identify any obstacles.
