Boards on Fire helps us focus on what's most important

Liljas was founded nearly 100 years ago and is one of the country's oldest car dealerships. Today, they are located in Kalmar, Växjö, Nybro, and Tingsryd with a total of 260 employees. Through digitalization with Boards on Fire, they are increasing engagement, improving communication, and reducing dependency on individuals.

– With the help of Boards on Fire, we can track key metrics and trends in a simple and visual way in our daily management. It also removes the dependency on individuals since everyone has access to the same information in an easily accessible manner, says Anton Pontán, site manager at Liljas Bil in Växjö.

Synergies between locations

– People have been working with their pens and notebooks and sticky notes for years. But I believe that a transition is a must if we are to further develop in the future. And especially, we have several departments in different locations, which makes it particularly interesting for us to integrate things into a digital environment where we can achieve synergy between locations and support each other.

– A great effect of Boards on Fire is that employees now think more critically about which key metrics are most important for their specific department. What should we focus on? We get higher engagement and a better drive in the key metrics we want to follow, quite simply.

Better situational awareness

Liljas also uses Boards on Fire to smoothly update information between departments, thereby eliminating a lot of emails and phone calls that were previously made just to check if ordered goods had arrived or not.

– It’s a huge advantage that the workshop can see how car sales are going and vice versa. We get higher engagement and a shared perspective. And, of course, just the fact that we are digitalizing overall and getting rid of whiteboards makes a big difference, says Anton Pontán and continues:

– We have quite a few Boards on Fire ambassadors internally, which is very exciting and encourages us to see what more we can do with the system. I believe flexibility is the key to our success so far. It's easy to set target values, and it’s quick. For once, we can choose how key metrics should be presented, and it doesn't have to be the same for all departments. As a manager, you can choose to display it your way for your department.

Looking ahead, Liljas is considering using the Boards on Fire module for deviations and how it can be connected to the improvement work within the organization.
