Michael Jonsson, owner and CVO of AD-plast in Anderstorp, has been digitalizing and automating his business since the mid-1990s. Now, Boards on Fire is the next step in this investment to increase participation across the entire staff.
– The most important aspect of automation and digitalization is to eliminate non-value-adding activities in the operation so that we can spend more time on what adds value. The systems should help us to simplify processes, says Michael Jonsson.
Michael purchased AD-plast 30 years ago and has developed the company into a complete supplier of mold tools and injection-molded plastic details in large and small volumes with high quality. From the beginning, the goal was for everything to be based on the business system. Connected machines, AGV trucks, etc. – everything should communicate with the business system to create as much benefit as possible.
Various ERP solutions have been used over the years, but since 2000, it has been Jeeves. The goal is to connect Boards on Fire with Jeeves in the next step to automatically retrieve relevant information. But initially, they manually update their digital pulse boards in Boards on Fire.
They have divided their morning meeting into four parts that they go through in Boards on Fire:
– My goal is to increase participation among everyone in the entire operation. With Boards on Fire, we can keep everyone informed and let an efficient meeting replace several different scattered meetings. I expect that we can save up to an hour and a half every day just there, says Michael Jonsson and continues:
– More participation will in turn lead to a lot of other positive effects like increased productivity, better quality, and a heightened interest in what we are working with. I am convinced that we will see a much greater engagement thanks to Boards on Fire.
