Hoval is a leading provider of heating and indoor climate solutions.
With over 80 years of experience and subsidiaries across the globe, Hoval develops innovative solutions and advanced technologies that meet both today’s and tomorrow’s needs, including heat pumps, boilers, and solar energy systems. After many years of working with analogue processes, Hoval has now taken a major step towards more digital and efficient daily management with Boards on Fire.
Hoval employs more than 2,500 people and is a leading provider of heating and indoor climate solutions, serving customers worldwide. The company offers heating systems, energy recovery solutions, indoor climate systems, as well as customized solutions for data centers and combined heat and power plants.
After many years of managing daily operations manually, Hoval realized that the process could be made both smoother and more efficient. With Boards on Fire, parts of the company have now taken the step towards digitalization, with the goal of gradually implementing the solution across the entire organization. The results so far have been impressive, says Daniel Manero, Global Lean Manager at Hoval, who particularly values the possibility of automatic updates of key KPIs.
"Before we started using Boards on Fire, we worked with analogue boards and all information had to be transferred manually between levels. This often led to lost information and reduced efficiency," explains Daniel Manero, Global Lean Manager at Hoval.
One of the reasons Hoval chose to digitalize its daily management with Boards on Fire is the tool’s flexibility and ability to bring everything together in one place. This streamlines communication throughout the entire organization, both nationally and internationally. Daniel also highlights that visualizing data increases transparency and strengthens employee engagement through discussions and KPI comparisons.
"The improvements we wanted to achieve are already built into Boards on Fire. Aggregation and everything else happens automatically and instantly," says Daniel Manero.
He further emphasizes that digitalization will simplify and improve collaboration with Hoval’s other factories in Europe, since all departments and production units can now follow the same processes and access real-time data. This strengthens both coordination and decision-making across borders.
"The team at Boards on Fire always has a very positive attitude, and it’s clear that they genuinely want to support us in being successful," says Daniel.
He adds that it feels reassuring to collaborate with a company whose people are not only passionate about their product but also have hands-on experience with lean and daily management.
